Almond Cookies

My trials for baking cookies have begun. I have referred to MANY websites to get this right. After a couple of trials, here is the one which works well for me.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds or powdered almonds
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • About 2 tablespoons of milk
  • Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon( Optional)

What to do:

  • Pre heat the oven to 350 degree F.
  • Mix the flour, sugar, salt, sliced almonds and baking powder

  • Add butter and milk to the flour mixture to make dough. Dough should be soft.
  • Divide the dough into small balls.
  • Press each ball between your palms lightly, leave the pieces 1/2” in thickness.
  • Place them about an inch a part (They tend to flatten as they bake)on UNgreased baking plates
  • Bake the cookies for about 12 to 18 minutes (Cookies should turn gold brown).
  • Remove the cookies from the oven.
  • Let the cookies cool down for two to three minutes before taking them.

Enjoy tasty cookies.
